Tensioned Hide is a suspended fashion exhibition concept constructed from reclaimed black leather, exposed cables, and precisely fabricated metal joinery. Two monumental curved surfaces sweep through the gallery, forming a continuous spatial field that guides visitors while displaying garments and footwear along their shifting profiles.
Assembled from irregular leather remnants, each surface retains visible seams, repairs, abrasions, and tonal variations. The material is treated as both skin and structure: stretched, stitched, folded, and held in tension by an exposed suspension system. Clothing and footwear float independently alongside the installation, creating a layered relationship between garment, body, and enclosure.
By elevating discarded leather into a room-scale spatial membrane, the project transforms evidence of wear and repair into its primary visual language. The installation remains open, demountable, and materially direct, balancing the weight of leather against the precision and apparent lightness of its cable-supported construction.
